Personal Development : Want Nothing – Prefer To Have It All

A long-standing client once asked if I was happy. “I certainly am” I replied “100 percent happy!” Her reaction? “Oh, that’s very sad!” But, happiness is to be found within (where else would you expect to find it?) and just because I’m happy doesn’t mean that I don’t want to achieve more, that I don’t want more out of life. I said “want” but, in truth, what I mean is “prefer”. You see, generally speaking, we haven’t got a clue as to what we really want. And although a self-styled personal development “guru” recently told me that that is why most people are unhappy, how could normal peopleknow what their heart really desires, when all the other normal people around them are judging their happiness in terms of how they measure up to all the other normal people?

Indeed, some people who single-mindedly knew exactly what they wanted are some of history’s worst nightmares. Adolf Hitler knew what he wanted – in the end it was good for neither him nor anyone else. Pol Pot was single-minded in the pursuit of his goals as was Josef Stalin. These are not the type of people we should aspire to be! You should want for nothing – but prefer to have it all. Indeed, even if all hell is breaking out around you at this moment, if you pause for reflection you will discover an eternal truth – that all is well in this moment, you have everything you need for the perfect life, here in this now. Therefore, the single-mindedness you need is a commitment and determination to live life to the full in the present moment, to engross yourself in now, to invest more and more of your energy into the present moment.

Quantum physics proves that if you invest more of your energy in the present moment, universal energy will respond to your investment. It works for people like Nelson Mandela just as much as it worked for Adolf Hitler. Energy in – energy out. And neuro-psychology also proves that paying attention to the present moment brings about peace of mind. If these are scientific facts, then you need to make absolutely sure that you know what you want – because it could be the worst thing in the world for you and others. Remember the saying“be careful what you wish for”!

That’s my reason for saying that you should want for nothing. You should have preferences to which you are neither attached nor which distract you from the here and now. When you prefer, you point yourself in the right direction but don’t rope you in to a destination to which, if you don’t arrive, you will be unhappy. Preferences are an inner compass. Prefer what’s best for you. Neither you nor I know what’s best for us but, having that preference as our goal in life is the best way to make certain that your mind doesn’t dwell on what you don’t have at this present moment.

And it is the present moment which is most importance. It is where you are right now. It is the only place in which you can do your best, be at your most effective. Scientific fact states that it is the only time and place there is. It is the time and place in which universe energy will respond to your heart’s desires – if you could only stop wanting and start living. So, focus on the here and now. Come to your senses – you have five of them, use them to engross yourself in this moment’s reality – and experience how it will change your life.

How To Get The Law Of Attraction To Work For You

Lots has been said and written about the so-called Law of Attraction – how you can attract what you want into your life. But very little has been said about what you have to do to get it to work in your favour. Some suggest that all you have to do is “believe” (whatever that means – necessarily the subject of a separate post) and what you want will come to you.

Would that it were so simple! Unfortunately, some work is involved on your part – you’ve got to do what’s necessary to bring what you want about – and you’ve got to do it wholeheartedly. This is where the average person falls flat on their face, because the average person – psychology proves – is incapable of doing almost anything wholeheartedly. The problem is that the average person only uses a tiny percentage of their focus when doing anything – the greater part of their mind is actively, albeit subconsciously, trying to stop them getting what they want.

Your thoughts are working against you. We’ve about 50,000 thoughts whizzing through our head every day. Some are useless – “Did I unplug the curling tongs before I left home this morning?” or “I wish I was playing golf instead of being bored at this meeting!” But many of our thoughts, the ones that bubble up from our subconscious mind, are self-destructive – “I feel like I’m a failure.” “I’m useless when it comes to this.” – whatever “this” is! “I’m shy”, “I’m stupid” – fill in your own blanks.

The problem is that these thoughts, whether we’re aware of them or not, block the flow of our energy – and quantum physics explains that universal energy responds to our input (that’s what the Law of Attraction is all about). If your energy is muddled – by the normal scrambled thoughts of the normal scrambled mind – then you’re not doing the bit that you need to do to bring what you want in your life about.

So, to change your life, you’ve got to change your mind – or, at least, the way your mind is working against you. You’re going to have to start living wholeheartedly – doing whatever you’re doing in the present moment in a more fully focused way. You need to engross yourself in the task in hand, whatever it may be – without letting useless thoughts (like “I don’t like what I’m doing at the moment”) disturb you. Then you’re energy will flow and you’ll be in flow (a scientific term coined by the University of Chicago to describe the state of mind of high achievers) with the flow of universal energy. That’s when the so-called Law of Attraction kicks in – because you’re no longer blocking the free-flow of energy.

You immerse yourself in the task in hand by really seeing, feeling, hearing, smelling and tasting what you’re doing. Yeah, you’ve got to come to your senses – literally. You need to start practicing this for yourself early each morning. You could try some formal meditation (it’s great!) or just take a few minutes out, see the steam rise off your coffee, taste the bitter taste, smell the aroma, cup the mug in your hands and feel the warmth and listen to hum of the refrigerator or the hiss of the coffee-maker. The props you need for your own personal development are all around you – and it’s in the ordinary of the everyday that you’ll find what you’re searching for in life.

Law Of Attraction Tips That Show How Your Wish Is Your Command

The Law of Attraction…where all things flow for you…your wish is your command. No longer is your success in life hindered by your mental “garbage”.

Your life experience is one of feeling free and unworried. You experience inner peace as your life materializes into the one you’ve always wanted.

Is this how you live your life? Or do you struggle? It all seems so difficult.

All areas of your life are out of sync. You can’t scrape together two dimes to pay the bills. You don’t know what to believe in your spiritual life. You’re out of shape physically. Your mind is cluttered with worried and scattered thoughts.

Those thoughts go from thoughts to concrete facts. Your subconscious mind accepts as complete fact anything you allow your mind to think. Think that there is lack? You receive lack in return. Think there is abundance? You receive abundance in return.

Is the Law of Attraction really that simple? Absolutely! But, here’s the catch…it’s an easy concept to grasp but it’s something that then takes years to master as you reverse all those negative thought patterns you’ve developed over the course of your life.

The “secret” is to focus intently on creating this shift in your thinking and to then create a daily habit of paying close attention to each thought you allow to go through your mind. As soon as you hear yourself saying words such as “but”, “maybe”, “if only”, “I need more…”, “I’m no good”, “there’s never enough…”, etc, you must stop yourself and rephrase your words.

Instead of saying “We can’t afford that because we need more money”, say “We’ll get that as soon as that deposit we’re waiting on hits the account” instead. Do you see how that little change keeps you focused on expecting positive change in your bank account rather than focusing on “lack”?

This is simply one small piece of information you must know if you expect to use the Law of Attraction to your best advantage.
