If these thoughts pop up simply bring your attention back to your breathing. As time goes on these thoughts should subside.</p>
<p>As you get deep into meditation you will begin to feel as if your body is completely relaxed, you may experience some tingling sensations as your body feels as if it is becoming lighter. Let this awesome feeling take over your body.  It may feel as if you are floating on clouds and this is exactly the feeling that you are looking for.</p>
<p>You may start to have feelings of euphoria, enjoy the feeling and let it take over your body, allow yourself to be completely taken over by this feeling as you get deeper into meditation. The word <u>chakra</u> means wheel, or spinning vortex in sanskrit. The body has seven major chakras in the body. Chakras are located on both sides of the spine and are responsible for regulating the bodies flow of prana or ki through the bodies energy channels. Chakras are spiritual centers in the body that when developed through meditation andqigong meditation can store large amounts of qi energy.  When prana or Qi have filled the chakras ones spiritual and psychic abilities began to open up and manifest themselves as paranormal abilities and spiritual advancement. Each chakra when fully developed has its own characteristic and leads to it own specific ability. </p>
<p>While  or chakra meditation some people may fill up one chakra while the others are remain closed due to blockages. This may lead to a rapid filling of Chi in one chakra fairly quickly. This is a result of [spin]Qi or prana flowing to one area because all the other areas are closed due to blockages.  The result is that one center is open and causes the individual to use of only that energy center. Having the full use of just one energy center or chakra can be pretty amazing.  However the full use of all the chakras result in someone reaching their full human physical, mental and spiritual potential. </p>

This exercise prevents one from experiencing the use of just one chakra but all the chakras have the ability to receive this flow of energy. This exercise also build and expands the aura. </p>
<p>Some people want to increase the power of one chakra in particular and want to know how they can amp up a center quickly.. Their reasoning for this is so that they can experience the power of that energy center .For example, the opening of the third chakra located in the solar plexus cause one to become very empathic. Empathic psychic ability is to be able to feel the emotions of others. It can be used to feel and communicate with humans, animals and plants.  When the third chakra is open you can feel the emotions of others so strong that it is impossible for them to hide their true intentions and feelings from you.   The ability to feel people places and things become so strong that it can be used as additional sense. </p>
<p>The answer to this question is to direct energy into the desired center by focusing the mind and energy on that chakra. <p>
<b>The Becoming of a Warrior: A Pathway to Transformation.</b></p>
<p>Well, that&#8217;s what I’m officially calling this Please <a href="http://growandimprove.com/wp-login.php?redirect_to=/unplugmind/meditation/feed/">Login</a> or <a href="http://growandimprove.com/wp-login.php?action=register">Register</a> to see the link.. If you haven’t noticed yet, I like to make affairs a bit more dramatic. Meaning, rather than calling this “Brandon Cook’s transformation story”… BORiiiiiing! I would rather call it: “The Becoming of a Warrior.”</p>
<p>Doesn’t that have a nice ring to it? If you must, blame it on my creative side. All the same, my intent IS to become a warrior, so I thought the title seemed right.</p>
<p>It’s possible that my interpretation of a warrior may be somewhat dissimilar from yours. To me a warrior isn&#8217;t just a soldier who engages in battles, but in addition to has the potential to evolve into something more. Let’s take a look at some definitions from dictionary.com:</p>
<p><b>Warrior  -noun</b><br />
<b>1.</b> One who is engaged in or experienced in battle; soldier.<br />
<b>2.</b> One who shows or has shown great vigor, courage, or aggressiveness, as in politics or athletics.<br />
<b>3.</b> One who is engaged aggressively or energetically in an activity, cause, or conflict.</p>
<p>As you can see, by these definitions a warrior could be a soldier, a politician, an athlete, or even an activist for a certain cause. More generally, any person showing great vigor, strength or courage while involved in an activity, or in the resolution of some type of conflict could be considered a warrior.</p>
<p>As you may know, I have elected to name this blog The Awakened Warrior.  This is my ideal of the warrior. In a real sense this is synonymous with an enlightened or spiritual warrior, one whose training, battles, and Please <a href="http://growandimprove.com/wp-login.php?redirect_to=/unplugmind/meditation/feed/">Login</a> or <a href="http://growandimprove.com/wp-login.php?action=register">Register</a> to see the link. experiences has led him or her to a higher level of consciousness or understanding of the world.</p>
<p>Thus, as the warrior awakens to a heightened perception and understanding of himself and his ultimate reality he transcends the state of mere warrior and becomes the warrior-sage.</p>
<p>According to Carl Jung, an archetype is an inherited pattern of thought or symbolic image that is derived from the past collective experience of humanity and is present in the unconscious of the individual.</p>
<p>The warrior is just one of many common archetypes. Others are the teacher, the clown, the bully, the redeemer, the sage, the lover, the hero, the villain, the goddess, or one of many others.</p>
<p>The Awakened Warrior is the combining of two archetypes.  The warrior and the sage (an extremely wise person.) This individual has the heart, strength, courage, and power of the warrior, alongside the wisdom, discernment, and experience of the sage.</p>
<p>So, this is what I mean when I refer to a warrior or an awakened warrior. Both Bruce Lee and Morihei Ueshiba serve as great examples of awakened warriors.</p>
<p>Morihei Ueshiba was the founder of the popular Japanese Martial Art Aikido. After mastering the classical styles of Judo, Kendo, and Jujitsu he created Aikido in correlation with his spiritual philosophy.  Aikido is the art of non-resistance and utilizes this principle to turn the attackers own force and momentum against him.  Using throws, joint locks, and pins to subdue an attacker in a nonviolent Please <a href="http://growandimprove.com/wp-login.php?redirect_to=/unplugmind/meditation/feed/">Login</a> or <a href="http://growandimprove.com/wp-login.php?action=register">Register</a> to see the link.. Morihei developed Aikido as a Please <a href="http://growandimprove.com/wp-login.php?redirect_to=/unplugmind/meditation/feed/">Login</a> or <a href="http://growandimprove.com/wp-login.php?action=register">Register</a> to see the link. to cultivate peace and harmony in the world. He is renowned as one of the greatest martial artists of all time.</p>
<p>Bruce Lee… okay, well I’m sure you know who Bruce Lee is!!!  Yet, you may not realize that Bruce Lee was much more than an actor, he was a martial artist, a philosopher, film director, screen writer, student of Wing Chun and founder of Jeet Kune Do. He is considered by many as the most influential martial artist of the 20th century, and a cultural icon.  Bruce Lee was also an Please <a href="http://growandimprove.com/wp-login.php?redirect_to=/unplugmind/meditation/feed/">Login</a> or <a href="http://growandimprove.com/wp-login.php?action=register">Register</a> to see the link. who weighed only 135-145 lbs. So he also serves as a great example for many hardgainers.</p>
<p>The more I study and learn about them, the more I admire these warriors and how they lived their lives.  </p>
<p>My training will be following along side of this ideal of a warrior. I&#8217;ll be focusing on strength and conditioning training while merging it with martial arts, meditation and a mind/body techniques. Here’s a few examples where my training philosophy differs from your typical bodybuilder, athlete or strength coach:</p>
<p><b>» •</b> I have added daily Zen meditation, affirmations, journal writing, and visualization to tap into the subconscious mind and overcome any limiting beliefs.<br />
<b>» •</b> I&#8217;ve blended elements and ideas from Aikido, Tai Chi, and other martial arts to develop the inner and outer warrior.<br />
<b>» •</b> For the mind I include science, philosophy and spirituality, as well as, other topics through a process of continual reading, learning and growth.<br />
<b>» •</b> To build, strengthen, and transform the body I incorporate various forms of calisthenics (bodyweight training), and strength training (weight lifting).<br />
<b>» •</b> In addition, I will use various conditioning and cardiovascular training to further develop the heart, lungs, and musculoskeletal system.</p>
<p>
Does this seem like more than just a regular work out?  Maybe more like a total training program that will help you achieve results in the power of your body, mind and spirit.</p>

<p>Many people frequently inquire as to whether I teach Tai Chi at my school. The simple answer is yes, but its not the martial form. What I teach is known as Wuji Tai Chi, which is also known as Primordial Tai Chi. However, before getting into details one must understand that is the forefather of Tai Chi and predates the practice by thousands of years. Tai Chi Chuan, which literally translates as “supreme ultimate fist” is a martial art that incorporates Qigong methods within the practice to achieve benefits that are not typical to regular martial arts practices. Tai Chi has a history of approximately 800-years. Its lineage traces back to Grandmaster Chang San Feng, the 13th century Taoist sage believed to be the creator of the 13-movement form for self-defense known as Tai Chi Chuan. </p>
<p>Recently, many modern teachers have simplified the long Tai Chi fighting forms down to more simple Please <a href="http://growandimprove.com/wp-login.php?redirect_to=/unplugmind/meditation/feed/">Login</a> or <a href="http://growandimprove.com/wp-login.php?action=register">Register</a> to see the link.-relief exercises for health and balance. These simple &#8220;Tai Chi for health&#8221; forms are a bit closer to the origins of all martial Tai Chi Chuan, which itself arose from what is known as &#8220;Medical Qigong.” To keep things simple, think of Qigong as the Mother of Tai Chi Chuan. Qigong goes back at least 3000 years in recorded history, while the term &#8220;tai chi chuan&#8221; is only 800 years old in comparison. Chi gong was originally called &#8220;yang sheng&#8221; which means: &#8220;nourishing Please <a href="http://growandimprove.com/wp-login.php?redirect_to=/unplugmind/meditation/feed/">Login</a> or <a href="http://growandimprove.com/wp-login.php?action=register">Register</a> to see the link.&#8220;, and most likely goes back tens of thousands of years into the history of China. All Tai Chi is ultimately just a more recent application of ancient Qigong principles specifically applied as a martial art or self-defense form.</p>
<p>Although Tai Chi Chuan is the most publicly available form of “Tai chi”, few people are aware that the founding Master Chang San Feng created a second short form that applied Tai Chi for spiritual growth and energy cultivation as well as physical and emotional health rather than self-defense. It also has 13 movements: 12 movements of Earth and one movement of Heaven that are done 40 times, ten times in each of the four directions representing the elements of Wood, Fire, Metal and Water. This form has been protected and has been secretly practiced by an unbroken lineage of Taoist masters for the last 800 years. This particular form of Tai Chi was never taught to outsiders until a few years ago when an 81-year old Master of this form by the name of Zhu Hui, began teaching this form to the public. In China it was kept secret because it was considered too powerful and valuable to be released to an untrained public. Master Zhu strongly believed that this form cured his liver cancer and protected him from violent abuse during China’s Cultural Revolution. He himself learned it from a 106-year old Taoist Master Li Tong, who lived on Wudang Mountain (made famous in the film: Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. When he was younger, Zhu Hui was the national Tai Chi sword champion of China and as a result Master Li Tong took a liking to him and taught him this special practice.</p>
<p>This secret and elegantly simple Tai Chi form or Primordial Qigong combines Tai Chi, Feng Shui, Qigong, and internal alchemy, which is a powerful form of Taoist longevity meditation. It is designed to capture the &#8220;subtle energy&#8221; or chi (&#8220;qi&#8221;) flow of Heaven and Earth, and collect it into the human body. It gathers chi inward to the core of one&#8217;s being in graceful beautiful, effortless energetic spirals. In terms of energy, it is the exact opposite of martial tai chi forms, which emit chi outwardly for self-defense and/or focus on manipulating the opponent&#8217;s chi. </p>
<p>In any event, this is the form of Tai Chi that I teach at my school. As students progress in their Qigong skills, they are exposed to other teachings that can further their progress and expose them to the variety of cultivation practices that I offer. </p>

<p>To begin, sit in a chair (breath deep with an even in and out rhythm) and build the sensation of an energy ball between your palms. Once you feel the chi between your hands, point them at your sex organs and breathe the chi into the sex center. Smile as you perform this exercise. Inhale with a sense of enjoying or savoring, mentally making the “Mmmmm” sound. Exhale with a sense of excitement, mentally saying “WOW”. As you feel the energy build, begin to pull or draw it upwards during the inhalation or in breath to your “Solar Plexus” or upper stomach. You can use your hands to pull it up towards this center (located just above the navel). With practice, you will feel the internal movement of energy moving up from the sex organs to the 3rd chakra or solar plexus. </p>
<p>Other energy centers can be vitalized with this method as well. For example, if you desire an increase in mental force, you can draw the sexual energy up to the forehead. If you desire improved communication ability, you would draw the energy up to the throat. Bringing the sexual energy to the heart makes one fearless and compassionate. For a short time, it may make you feel emotionally sensitive and quick to tears as your feelings of love and caring for others are dramatically enhanced. </p>
<p>This powerful exercise can be used to super change the chakras and create powerful chi. This might feel like a struggle at first and the more you relax the more thoughts you might have roaming around your mind to distract you.</p>
<p>If you find these thoughts getting stronger, bring your attention back to the sound of your breathing and the sound of the air going in and out of your lungs.  In time these thoughts should subside as your body begins to relax and you let go of your conscious mind.</p>
<p>Some of the meditation symptoms will experience are tingles, feeling warm, a change in perceived body weight as your body is completely relaxed and feelings of euphoria. If you begin to experience of these feelings you are entering into a state of meditation.  Allow yourself to be immersed by this wonderful feeling and let yourself go.</p>
<p>Just a quick warning, meditation can become extremely addictive when you realise the full power of this wonderful practice. You should begin to feel a lot better physical and mentally in time and eliminate the need for other treatments such as dangerous drugs which is the last thing you want to be putting in your body.</p>

Several individuals achieve this without even realizing that these are spiritual aspects. This is accomplished by living in harmony with universal laws and principles. It is these laws that govern the very interaction of all people on Earth, as well as the stars, planets, galaxies, and the universe itself must obey. I think that is what I consider to be power!</p>
<p>None of these laws are new and you might even recognize them on some degree, as they are interlinked into the framework of the world and taught in numerous different ways, in many different forms, and by numerous different people in several different cultures. <p>Pranayam (also spelled Pranayama) is an ancient practice concerned with breath control. Steps</p>
<p>Bhastrika Pranayam</p>
<p>   1. Sit in comfortable position, you may sit even on a chair.<br />
   2. Breathe in through your nostrils until the lungs are full. Feel the diaphragm move down to allow the lungs to expand and forcing the abdomen out, followed by the mid section of your chest expanding and finally your collar bone rising.<br />
   3. Breath out forcefully and uniformly, again through your nostrils. Again feel the collar bone dropping, chest deflating and the diaphragm moving up as the lungs collapse allowing the abdomen to be sucked in. This process of exhaling should be much faster than the process of inhaling.<br />
   4. Repeat the process. When correctly done, your chest will expand when you breathe in and deflate when you breathe out. Continue doing this for 5 minutes.</p>
<p>
Kapalbhati Pranayam</p>
<p>   1. Sit erect.<br />
   2. Inhale through your nostrils a little and exhale through both nostrils forcefully.<br />
   3. Inhale again a little and follow with another forceful exhalation passively and effortlessly.<br />
   4. Continue these cycles. The frequency should be about 60 strokes/minute.<br />
   5. Continue doing this for 15 minutes. You may take a minutes rest after every five minutes.</p>
<p>
Anulom Vilom Pranayam</p>
<p>   1. Sit comfortably.<br />
   2. Close your eyes.<br />
   3. Close the right nostril with the right thumb.<br />
   4. Inhale slowly through the left nostril and fill your lungs with air.<br />
   5. Close your left nostril with the ring and middle fingers of the right hand and open the right nostril.<br />
   6. Exhale slowly and completely with the right nostril.<br />
   7. Again inhale through the right nostril and fill your lungs.<br />
   8. Close the right nostril by pressing it with the right thumb.<br />
   9. Open the left nostril, breathe out slowly. (This process is one round of Anulom Vilom Pranayam.)<br />
  10. Continue for 15 minutes. You may take a minute&#8217;s rest after every five minutes of exercise.</p>

Bahya Pranayam</p>
<p>   1. Breathe air out, touch chin to chest, squeeze stomach completely and hold for a while.<br />
   2. Release chin, breathe in slowly.<br />
   3. Repeat 3 to 5 times.</p>
<p>
Bhramari Pranayam</p>
<p>   1. Close ears with thumb, index finger on forehead, and rest three on base of nose touching eyes.<br />
   2. Breathe in. And now breathe out through nose while humming like a bee.<br />
   3. Do this three times.</p>
<p>
Udgeeth Pranayam</p>
<p>   1. Breathe in deeply, and chant OOOOOOm (long O and small m).<br />
   2. Do this 3 times.</p>

Tips</p>
<p>    * Do Pranayam preferably in the morning with an empty stomach.<br />
    * If you prefer to do Pranayam in the evening, do it on an empty stomach and keep a gap of at least 5 hours between your meals and Pranayam.<br />
    * Those who cannot sit in Asanas can sit on the chair and do Pranayam.<br />
    * Never hold your breath while doing Pranayam.</p>
<p>Warnings</p>
<p>    * Pregnant woman and persons having a fever should consult a doctor before doing Pranayam.<br />
    * Children above 5 years should do Bhastrika Pranayam for only 2 minutes, Kapalbhati and Anulom Vilom Pranayam each for 5 minutes.<br />
    * Even after consulting doctors, it is important to remember that Kapalbhati can be risky in those who have abdominal wounds, surgical operations, hernia, peritonitis, appendicitis, prolapse of rectum or uterus, hiatus hernia and recently delivered women.<br />
    * Some of the pranayam is not recommended for people with High Blood Pressure.</p>
